Pinto Gris

WINEMAKING COMMENTS

Pinot gris originated in Burgundy. Optimiste Estate grown pinot gris grapes were selectively hand harvested in the cool mornings when fully ripe to ensure maximum flavour and mouthfeel. A portion was fermented in aged French oak to give the full, rich, typical pinot gris style.

COLOUR

Slight coppery hue.

AROMA

Spiced pear and musk.

FLAVOUR

The palate is generous and complex with a soft full texture, pear and stone fruit flavours with a citrus acidity to finish. Drinking beautifully now.

FOOD

Salt & pepper prawns, zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta, Salad Nicoise or a picnic of fresh fruit, soft cheeses, crusty baguettes and a good prosciutto.
